That brings us to a really important topic…
Organic vs None Organic - And why should I care?
This topic really hits home for me. Maybe it's because I have personally studied the incredibly devastating amounts of toxins within our environment, and foods - or maybe it's from choosing to be vegan a year or so ago... Or maybe it’s because my family members think I’m a wacko for buying into this theory - either way, choosing organic is never a tough decision for me to make.
"You may hear, "Organic food isn't any more nutritious — so don't waste your money.”
“However, The Soil Association notes that an organic diet increases the consumption of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and essential fatty acids. Health and safety should not be confused with nutrition.
While most research can't prove, beyond a doubt that organic food is more nutritious, it is much safer, which may translate to a healthier body, able to absorb healthy nutrients. Non-organic food often contains harmful hormones and pesticides. Pesticides are poisonous — by nature, they're designed to kill.
Pesticides can cause neurological problems, cancer, infertility, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, allergies and asthma, wheezing, rashes, and other skin problems, ADHD, birth defects and more.
Basic logic would tell you not to eat poison, so why not go organic and avoid pesticides?
According to the Environmental Working Group, nearly three-quarters of 7,000 produce samples tested by the USDA in 2014 contained pesticide residues. In some cases, these pesticides persisted on fruits and vegetables even when they were washed or peeled." - published by HuffPost & Wellbalance Business 2016
